Rates

Book Esk Hut exclusively for your group's use.

Minimum two-night stay

Rates start from $580.00 per night for up to four guests.

Additional guest rates apply of $55 per person, per night, above four, up to 12.

Includes optional one return shuttle or luggage transfer from the main station to the hut, seats 4 persons. Additional fee of $150 for second vehicle shuttle.

NATURE ON YOUR DOORSTEP

It is perfectly positioned, with adventure-ready and waiting for you. Take in the sunrise over the Puketeraki Ranges and the golden setting sun over kānuka hill.

FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN

Including a gas Fridge and freezer to keep your food and drinks cold.
Plates, cutlery, glassware, pots and gas cooking hobs (4) at your disposal.
Dish liquid, dish cloth and tea towels provided.

TWO BEDROOMS - SLEEPS 12 GUESTS
2 X QUEENS AND TWO BUNKS IN EACH ROOM

Full linen and bedding, including a pillow, are provided.

BATHROOM FACILITIES - FLUSHING TOILET AND A HOT SHOWER

Enjoy a hot shower after a day exploring the backcountry. There's plenty of hot water for dishes too!
Personal towels, bath mat and hand towel provided.

ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME

Cosy and comfortable for the whole family. Wood burner fireplace, in the dining/lounge area with firewood provided.

WE'VE GOT YOU SORTED

The hut is fitted out with solar lighting and the ability to charge using a USB plug.

For your peace of mind, a VHR radio, smoke alarms, fire extinguisher, and a carbon dioxide alarm are fitted in the hut.

GETTING TO ESK HUT

​Mountain Biking

Soak up the scenery, smell the beech forest and listen to the bellbirds on a 2–3-hour mountain bike ride (4WD road; Grade 3/intermediate with 460m climbing overall; self-supported; luggage transfers available).

 

Please note: walking and biking activities may be restricted in lambing season and mustering.  

Complimentary Shuttle or Luggage Transfer.

Included in your Hut fee

Enjoy a high country hut experience without having to walk / MTB there! 

Located seventeen kilometres from Mt White Station, the journey to Esk Hut is all part of the adventure.

Our shuttle and luggage transfer service in one of our 4WD vehicles takes the hassle out of moving yourself or your bags between the main Mt White Station and the backcountry. 

Please confirm your transport needs at the time of booking. There is an additional fee for a second vehicle shuttle (included shuttle carries up to 4 persons with boot space for luggage and gear).

EXPLORE A MOUNTAIN WATERFALL

Explore by foot or bike one of the many backcountry farm roads, taking you to places like Mounds of Misery, old mustering huts and much more.

Cosy up and enjoy the ambience of the roaring fire. The hut hosts a variety of board games but make sure you pack your favourite and enjoy the belly laughing that always seems to accompany such games.

Enjoy the slower pace of the backcountry and walk 60 minutes to a stunning mountain waterfall.
